An international team of astronomers reported the discovery of a new cataclysmic variable SRGeJ041130.3+685350, which may contain a brown dwarf. The findings are published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society (MNRAS).
Cataclysmic variables (CVs) are close double star systems consisting of a primary white dwarf that typically accretes matter from a main-sequence star. Their brightness increases irregularly several times and then decreases again to quiescent.
