A shark pounced on a teenager and nearly bit off his leg

In Australia, a shark attacked a teenager surfing in the state of New South Wales and almost bit off his leg. This is reported by Nine News.

Julian McLennan, 16, was surfing near the town of Taree on Monday, 25 December, when the predatory fish bit into his leg. “I was floating on the waves when something grabbed me. I look to my right and I see a fin sticking out of the water and the carcass of a shark,” the young man said.

He admitted that as he rowed to shore, he didn’t even know if his limb was still there. McLennan immediately shouted to his mate Alex, who was swimming closer to shore, that a shark had jumped him. When he came out of the water, the wound was bleeding profusely.
