Apple has hired more professional drivers to test its own unmanned car. This is reported by the publication macReports.
Media journalists have studied detailed documents from US regulators and found out that the IT giant put 68 unmanned cars on the streets of the state of California at the beginning of 2024. The company has also increased its staff to 162 drivers to help test the cars and train the algorithms.
Experts disclosed that the record number of Apple’s vehicle testers – more than 200 people – was registered in 2023. However, after a while, the corporation rolled back the development and significantly reduced the staff of the Apple Car project. According to journalists, the company “reached a dead end”.
