After the attack, Aleria reached the nearest house and asked for help. He was taken to a hospital in Tagbilaran town. Doctors prescribed him antibiotics and sent him home. Photos taken at the hospital show him lying with a bandaged hand and blood on his face.
According to Aleria, the villagers grilled the body of the snake and ate it.
